Charlton & Jenrick Purevision HD 8.5kw Inset Log Burner

By ianbFebruary 7th, 2015Featured Stoves, Recent Stove InstallationsComments Off on Charlton & Jenrick Purevision HD 8.5kw Inset Log Burner

This stove is really impressive. I don’t just recommend stoves based on what manufactures say, but I try them myself too, usually a different one each season or two. This winter I swapped my Charnwood Island II (another amazing log burner) for a Charlton & Jenrick Purevison HD. I can see why they call it a HD stove, the glass pane is huge and its hard to keep your eyes off the flames gently lifting from the logs inside.

The next thing you’ll notice from this wood burner is the shear amount of heat put into the room! At 82% efficiency, its one of the highest money can buy. Because of the position of this inset stove in my room, I can feel the warmth pouring out from my head to my toes! I’ve fitted two of these stoves for a customer this year already. They are very pleased!

Check out the other versions of this stove on the Charlton & Jenrick website.

Stovax Stockton 5 Log Burner Stove

By ianbOctober 19th, 2011Featured Stoves, Recent Stove InstallationsComments Off on Stovax Stockton 5 Log Burner Stove
Stovax Stockton 5 Low Canopy Black

“A versatile and practical stove”

The Stockton 5 stove has a squarer landscape style compared to the portrait style of the Stockton 3 or Stockton 4 stoves. The additional width allows you to load logs up to 330mm (13″) in length. Both the wood burning and multi fuel versions are available with a low canopy.

The multi fuel version is suitable for burning logs, but the wood burning only version will burn logs with even greater efficiency.

Both wood burning versions and the multi fuel flat top version are approved for use in Smoke Control areas.

Colour choices: Matt Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Brown, Metallic Green.

For more information on the Stovax Stockton range, or to get a quote for installation, give Doug or Martin @ HeatAsh a call. We are both HETAS certified log burner installers with years of experience in the building and stoves trade. Contact us.

Airwash is part of Stovax’s firebox air flow technology.
Airwash is a design feature that uses a specially placed vent or vents to draw in cool air from the outside to ‘wash’ over the inside of the glass. This helps to keep the glass cleaner for longer, allowing you to enjoy the glow and flames to the full. It is also used as primary combustion air when burning wood.

Cleanburn
Cleanburn is part of Stovax’s Triple Air System technology. With Cleanburn, secondary air is pre-heated as it passes through a heat exchanger chamber within the firebox. It is then drawn into the smoke stream, where it combusts unburnt hydrocarbons to provide a cleaner burn and greater thermal efficiency. A stove with Cleanburn will give you more heat output from your fuel.

Approved for Smoke Control Areas
Most town and city homes are located in Smoke Control Areas as designated by the Clean Air Act 1993. To burn logs on a stove in these locations, the model installed must have been granted exemption from the regulations by the government through DEFRA. This exemption is given only to appliances which have been independently tested to demonstrate particularly cleanburning combustion. Any Stovax stoves shown as Approved for Smoke Control Areas, such as this one, can be used in these areas when fitted with the appropriate smoke control kit.

Nailers Cottage

This is our latest installation of a Stovax Stockton 7 multi fuel stove.  Installed in a three hundred year old nailers cottage.  Because of the age of the property, and previous alterations , the bottom half of the chimney stack had to be rebuilt to fit the stove. Not a problem for our experienced builders and hetas certified solid fuel heating engineers.

Installation of a Chimney Liner

By dougbSeptember 24th, 2010Featured StovesComments Off on Installation of a Chimney Liner
Picture of Lining Installation with scafholding

A chimney liner is required for a number of reasons: It provides a safe escape for potentially dangerous fumes that you wouldn’t want in your home, but it also improves the performance of your log burning stove. That means that you will need less wood or coal to heat you home every winter! Made from high quality stainless steel, chimney liners are guaranteed by the manufacturer for up to 25 years. When you calculate the cost over this amount of time, they are well worth the investment in reducing trips to the log store alone!

A chimney liner should be installed by a professional Hetas approved engineer, which all of HeatAsh engineers are. If an incorrect size flue is installed, it may hamper the performance of your stove. Worse still, if a flue liner is not installed correctly, it may leak toxic carbon monoxide into your home with potentially fatal consequences.

If you have any questions or need advice on your next chimney or flue liner, contact HeatAsh by clicking here.
